في ما تعد الغرامة الأكبر من نوعها على مستوى العالم، تطالب السلطات الصينية سائق شاحنة بغرامة 25 مليون دولار مخالفة سير، بعدما تسبب في تحطم الكوبري، عندما مر عليه بشاحنته وعليها حمولة من الحصي والحجر الرملي تزيد على قدرة الكوبري.

وأكدت صحيفة الديلي ميل البريطانية، نقلاً عن السلطات في العاصمة الصينية بكين، أن الغرامة الضخمة هي تكاليف إصلاح الكوبري الخرساني المحطم.

ونقلت الصحيفة عن صحيفة تشاينا كار تايمز، أن السائق مستر زانج "34 عاماً"، كان يقود شاحنة محملة بكمية من الرمل، يوم 19 يوليو 2011، عندما عبر بها كوبري خرساني في أحد ضواحي بكين، لكن الحمولة الثقيلة "110 أطنان" كانت أكبر من قدرات الكوبري، ما أسفر عن سقوط جزء منه، وعليه الشاحنة التي لم تصب بسوء.

وقالت الصحيفة: إنه بعد تحقيقات استمرت عاماً، توصلت السلطات إلى أن قائد الشاحنة يتحمل المسؤولية بمفرده، رغم أن دفاعه قال في المحكمة إن السائق كان ينفذ تعليمات شركة الشحن.

وطالبته السلطات بدفع تكاليف إصلاح الكوبري التي بلغت 25 مليون دولار, وأضافت الصحيفة أنه من غير المعروف كيف سيتمكن السائق من دفع هذه الغرامة الضخمة.
